Kindergarten

We are truly privileged to witness children grow, learn and develop each day. They bring a unique sense of curiosity, energy and excitement for life. Our goal is to provide a nurturing environment where they can thrive and reach their full potential. In a space that is trusting and supportive, children feel safe to take risks, explore and embrace new learning opportunities.

We recognize that every child is unique, with their own experiences, interests, strengths and needs. That’s why we are committed to adapting our teaching strategies to suit each child’s individual learning style. We offer a wide range of experiences to support development across social, emotional, physical, intellectual and creative areas.

We encourage you to visit the kindergarten whenever you can and to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Your child’s progress is important to us, and we want you to feel well-informed and confident in their journey. Our aim is to ensure that your child’s first year of school is a joyful and successful experience, setting the stage for many more to come.

Full-Time Kindergarten Program

Graminia School is excited to offer an inquiry based full-time Kindergarten program for the 2025-26 school year. This full-day everyday program focuses on classroom learning and curricular outcomes of the Kindergarten curriculum in the morning with the afternoon programming being student-led inquiry learning. At Graminia School, full-time students will be registered in one class cohort that is together on all the days. While first priority for spaces within this program will be allocated to those students currently residing in Graminia School’s catchment area, students from all schools are welcome to register for this program.

Graminia School also offers part-time Kindergarten programs that run Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday with alternating Fridays.

Full-time Kindergarten operates on a cost-recovery basis, running only if there are enough registrations and deposits. The program costs for the 2025-2026 school year will be $450/month per child, and a deposit of $900 is due at the time of registration. Payments can be made in person at the school office by cash, debit or credit.

Registration for the program typically remains open until mid-April prior to the start of the school year. If more than 21 students register for full-time Kindergarten, a draw will be used as a fair means to determine which students will be accepted into the program, priority will be given to students living int he Graminia catchment area. If an insufficient number of students has enrolled by the registration deadline, the program will not go forward and all deposits will be returned. Parents and guardians will receive confirmation of deposit receipt and enrolment shortly after the registration deadline has passed and the draw (if applicable) has been made.

As full-time Kindergarten is a program of choice, transportation costs are not included in the program fee, and bus service is subject to availability. For more information about rider eligibility, please visit the Parkland School Division Transportation page.
